Little Wrappers

A fun and exciting centre based program for children aged between 5-12 years with additional needs. This after school program involves a variety of community access activities, physically challenging options as well as recreational activities that offer the participant enjoyment but also have specific outcomes for them. 
We support participant to gain confidence, develop friendships and overcome anxieties, through facing new challenges. Participants will reach new potential and gain a broad range of experiences and skills to use throughout their life. 
 
The program has an emphasis on building social, independent and life skills by providing the participants with various opportunities to grow and develop skills through specifically programmed activities. We recognise that consistency of staff is a key factor in delivering a high quality service. 
It is also important for our participants to have consistency in the staff supporting their needs. This leads to a more person-centred approach of supporting needs. 

Times: 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm
When: Mondays and Wednesdays

After School WRAP
 
This after school program involves a variety of community access, leisure and recreationn options for people aged from 12-18 years with additional needs. After School WRAP involves a variety of community access, and physically stimulating and challenging activities. Our aim is to enhance confidence building, develop friendships and overcome anxieties through facing new challenges. Participants will gain a broad range of experiences and skills to use throughout their life.
The program has an emphasis on building social, independent and life skills by providing the participants with various opportunities to grow and develop skills through specifically programmed activities. We recognise that consistency of staff is a key factor to delivering a high quality service. It is also important for our participants to have consistency in the staff supporting their needs. This leads to a more person- centred approach of supporting needs.

Time: 5.00pm to 7.00pm 
When: Wednesdays and Fridays

WRAP Basketball Competition

A fun and energetic basketball competition for players with additional needs. This program is an excellent opportunity to create team building and leadership skills with an emphasis on physical health and development. This competition is a great way to improve core strength and general fitness in a fun way. 

When: Saturdays, fortnightly (March- December) 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Where: Thomastown Recreation and Aquatic Centre (TRAC)
Cost: Registration and Fees apply

Program Goals - WRAP - Group Programs

  • Acknowledging when goods/services need to be paid for
  • Attempts or participates in all group recreational activities that are unfamiliar
  • Develop and maintain relationships within a group setting and socialise with members of the community
  • Engage in social interactions and general conversations
  • Making payments for goods and/or services
  • Take part in unfamiliar activities with encourages and reassurance.
  • Participation in some group recreational activities that are unfamiliar
  • Understanding the correct use of money
  • Valuing and respecting our peers and accepting others opinions
