I have had the privilege of knowing this wonderful lady for the last 3 years. At the beginning of her fitness journey three years ago, Angela suffered from severe hip pain. It was recommended to her that she did some water-based exercises to help her get ready for an upcoming hip replacement operation – and she has not looked back since. Being in the water for Angela has been one of the best therapies possible. Prior to her hip surgery, the water allowed her to move more freely and participate in light aerobic-style activities within the pool. And then she found aqua classes!
These classes have been more than beneficial for Angela over these past few years. Not only did they allow Angela to move pain-free within the water, attending these classes were the best possible therapy post-surgery as part of her rehabilitation program. The variety of exercises that are performed within aqua classes allow all participants to experience a great aerobic-style workout whilst, at the same time, toning the body. Angela has found great success within these classes and has benefitted in a number of ways…no more hip pain, some weight loss and a firmer, more toned body. In addition to this, she has found herself a whole heap of new friends, myself included!
Nowadays, nothing will stop Angela from attending classes here at TRAC. We can count on Angela to be a regular attendee at aqua classes and who knows? Maybe I can get her to try Zumba classes this year?! After all, there’s nothing to stop those hips now!
