Meet Mel
Meet Mel. She has been a member of TRAC (“on and off” in her words!) for 6 years. During this time, Mel has tried a variety of exercises over several different programs and has seen some great results over the years, including some significant weight loss. At present, Mel is one of my PT clients and she reckons it’s her favourite session of the week! Call her crazy but she doesn’t mind being worked hard and trying exercises that she may possibly never think to do by herself. From my point of view, as Mel’s trainer, I cannot fault her work ethic and her commitment to getting the results that she wants. She has always been willing to push herself out of her comfort zone and this has most definitely paid off. She always had a bit of a fear and loathing of the treadmill but she can now be seen running along merrily on a Friday morning during our sessions. She may not look like she’s enjoying it but I reckon she secretly does! In her spare time, Mel keeps herself busy and loves to bake, go shopping and fish for squid! She also loves to travel and is always organizing her next trip! So the next time you see Mel sweating it out on the cardio equipment, give her the thumbs up and encourage her to keep going! She may not be able to answer back but she’ll return your thumbs up with a huge smile…?  Read More

Meet Lorraine!
Lorraine is the most recent Health Club instructor to join our wonderful team here at TRAC and she has already made such a huge, positive impact on the centre! Lorraine has been in the fitness industry for many years and has a real desire and passion for enabling people to be the best possible version of themselves. She has been involved in Group Fitness for 26 years and has taught a wide variety of programs, both as a freestyle and as a Les Mills instructor. Many of us have been participants in Lorraine’s classes and have enjoyed the intense nature of the workouts she provides. These classes almost always include the screaming out of “Woohooooo” when it hurts the most! As a Health Club instructor, Lorraine joins us with a wide range of knowledge and expertise. She loves to have a chat so if you are at the gym on a Friday or a Saturday morning, pop in to say “hi” or maybe book an appointment with her to write up your next program! She also teaches a great HIIT class on a Friday morning at 9am in the Health Club and at 9.30am on a Saturday morning in the stadium. Be prepared to work hard though because she’s one tough cookie! In whatever spare time Lorraine has these days, she enjoys travel, spending quality time with family, reading and, in her words, “following the sun”! She will also be super busy in her upcoming future role as a nonna! We all welcome Lorraine on board here at TRAC and I for one am looking forward to working alongside one of the most dedicated and committed instructors I know… Michelle – Health Club Team Leader  Read More

Meet Angela....
I have had the privilege of knowing this wonderful lady for the last 3 years. At the beginning of her fitness journey three years ago, Angela suffered from severe hip pain. It was recommended to her that she did some water-based exercises to help her get ready for an upcoming hip replacement operation – and she has not looked back since. Being in the water for Angela has been one of the best therapies possible. Prior to her hip surgery, the water allowed her to move more freely and participate in light aerobic-style activities within the pool. And then she found aqua classes! These classes have been more than beneficial for Angela over these past few years. Not only did they allow Angela to move pain-free within the water, attending these classes were the best possible therapy post-surgery as part of her rehabilitation program. The variety of exercises that are performed within aqua classes allow all participants to experience a great aerobic-style workout whilst, at the same time, toning the body. Angela has found great success within these classes and has benefitted in a number of ways…no more hip pain, some weight loss and a firmer, more toned body. In addition to this, she has found herself a whole heap of new friends, myself included! Nowadays, nothing will stop Angela from attending classes here at TRAC. We can count on Angela to be a regular attendee at aqua classes and who knows? Maybe I can get her to try Zumba classes this year?! After all, there’s nothing to stop those hips now!
