Our thoughts are with NSW & QLD - Message From Michele

With the devastating fires across the country and my family and I nervously watching many of our families farms, I thought it only apt to share the following reminder as I know many of our team have been touched by fires or have family and friends being affected...

As people throughout NSW and QLD are affected by a series of active bushfires, sadly some people have been forced into evacuation and many properties have been destroyed. Our hearts are with the victims of these devastating fires.

Our Employee Assistance Program (‘EAP’) can provide support for you and your immediate family members, to try and understand the impact of the situation and to help process this event.

A crisis or traumatic event can trigger overwhelming emotional responses and people may be affected in their hearts and minds which can undermine healthy communities and social relationships at home and at work. For support resources that include strategies for coping with reactions to stress and anxiety please contact humanresources.vic@ymca.org.au. Remember the immediate and confidential EAP services are accessible 24/7, 365 days a year, by calling 1300 361 008. The Community Crisis Support Line is now open. While the EAP help line is always open for our YMCA employees.

The Community Crisis Support Line is open 24/7 and can be reached at: 1300 361 008. By calling, individuals will receive professional emotional support and/or referral to community resources. This Support Line is available to anyone and everyone, all members of the public, not only YMCA employees, so please share this information with any of your friends and family that may be impacted.

Please do not hesitate to also contact sandra.marsden@ymca.org.au if there is any additional support that we can offer.
